COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES

Residents at Iron Horse Ranch will become an integral part of Sandpoint, Idaho. On the northeastern shores of Lake Pend Oreille, residents will also enjoy Hope, Idaho, its shoreline, boat marinas and waterfront restaurants.

Northern Idaho, the “panhandle”, offers unlimited activities for the outdoorsman and his family. Because of the relatively low elevation, summers are longer. Water sports enthusiasts begin putting their craft into Lake Pend Oreille as early as April and can look forward to pleasant weather until early October. Because of the irregular shoreline, size and depth of the lake, all manner of power boating and sailing are permitted, and water skiers are prevalent during the warm summer months. Fishing for lake trout is legendary. Golfing is beautiful at nearby public and private courses. Swimming, hiking, camping, biking, and hunting round out just some of the many outdoor activities available. Winter activities are equally appealing. Schweitzer Mountain, at 6,400 feet, offers an outstanding alpine experience. Cross country skiing and snowmobiling trails are plentiful.
